Overview
The main purpose of the job is to support and assist the responsible manager in maintaining a safe environment. The key role involves repair and maintenance of equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on guestrooms according to checklists and maintain all records.
- Perform building maintenance duties.
- Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and tools as needed.
- Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
- Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, and thorough cleanup of work areas.
- Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items.
- Monitor fire alarm and life safety systems as necessary.
- Respond promptly to emergencies, inform management, and restore normal operations.
- Read, log, track, and interpret readings from meters and gauges; maintain detailed logs of daily activities and issues.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of engineering areas and assist in the effective operation of the resort.
- Carry out reasonable requests from management within your capabilities.
- Prioritize safety for yourself and colleagues, following all health and safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Emphasis in technical trades with two or more years of experience.
- At least two years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician.
- 4th or 5th Class Power Engineering License preferred.
- Operator certificate or equivalent trade experience.
- Valid Alberta Driver’s License and a clean driver’s abstract.
- Proficiency in at least one of the following categories, with skills in additional categories:
- Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
- Electrical
- Mechanical
- Plumbing
- Pneumatic/Electronic Systems & Controls
- Carpentry & Finish Skills
- Kitchen Equipment
- Vehicles
- Energy Conservation
- Building
Additional Information
The schedule may require shift work, late nights, weekends, and holidays. The environment is high energy, noisy, and involves working in a smoking environment.
