Qualifications

Job description

Overview

The main purpose of the job is to support and assist the responsible manager in maintaining a safe environment. The key role involves repair and maintenance of equipment.

Responsibilities
  1. Perform preventive maintenance on guestrooms according to checklists and maintain all records.
  2. Perform building maintenance duties.
  3. Perform preventive maintenance on equipment and tools as needed.
  4. Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing skills, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building maintenance.
  5. Perform surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repairs, light bulb and A/C filter replacements, and thorough cleanup of work areas.
  6. Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on various equipment, plumbing, electrical components, and guestroom items.
  7. Monitor fire alarm and life safety systems as necessary.
  8. Respond promptly to emergencies, inform management, and restore normal operations.
  9. Read, log, track, and interpret readings from meters and gauges; maintain detailed logs of daily activities and issues.
  10. Maintain cleanliness and organization of engineering areas and assist in the effective operation of the resort.
  11. Carry out reasonable requests from management within your capabilities.
  12. Prioritize safety for yourself and colleagues, following all health and safety requirements.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Emphasis in technical trades with two or more years of experience.
  3. At least two years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician.
  4. 4th or 5th Class Power Engineering License preferred.
  5. Operator certificate or equivalent trade experience.
  6. Valid Alberta Driver’s License and a clean driver’s abstract.
  7. Proficiency in at least one of the following categories, with skills in additional categories:
    • Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
    • Electrical
    • Mechanical
    • Plumbing
    • Pneumatic/Electronic Systems & Controls
    • Carpentry & Finish Skills
    • Kitchen Equipment
    • Vehicles
    • Energy Conservation
    • Building
Additional Information

The schedule may require shift work, late nights, weekends, and holidays. The environment is high energy, noisy, and involves working in a smoking environment.
