Qualifications

  • Valid 4th Class Stationary Engineer Certificate with 2+ years experience.
  • Knowledge of TSSA standards and food safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor refrigeration and steam-generating equipment.
  • Participate in plant equipment repairs and installations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards.

Job description

The Opportunity:

12-hour rotating shift pattern structure (a variation of the DuPont Shift Schedule). This is a 4-week rotation between day and night shifts.

Role

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
  • Contributes to a healthy work environment, while maintaining high food safety standards.
  • Maintain, monitor, test, and log all steam-generating requirements by operation code.
  • Maintain, monitor, and check all refrigeration equipment requirements to TSSA Standards.
  • Participate in plant equipment repairs and installations.
  • Interface with necessary Contractual and Inspection Departments for corrective or legal requirements.
  • Carry out oral and printed work requests and apply corrective measures in a timely fashion utilizing computerized maintenance systems.
  • Other responsibilities as required.
  • Help the department meet targets and goals while maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Address issues with urgency and attention to detail.
  • Fulfills all Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, WHMIS, and MSDS requirements.
  • Maintain productivity standards.
  • Contribute positively to the team and the facility.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Valid and current 4th Class Stationary Engineer Certificate (minimum of 2 years).
  • Refrigeration Operator Class B License or higher.
  • Experience with ammonia cooling and compressed air systems.
  • Experience working with boilers and steam.
  • Ability to work 24/7 shifts.
  • Self-motivated team player with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Personal/professional hand tools identified for Food Safety program.
  • Good communication skills with co-workers, Supervisors, and lead hands.
  • Ability to read and write English.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Reliable, responsible, punctual, and cooperative.
  • Knowledge of TSSA standards.
