Job summary

Nautel Sonar, a specialized division within Nautel Ltd., seeks a Power Electronics Engineer to design, develop, and implement advanced sonar systems for underwater applications. You will join a skilled team driving cutting-edge technology for marine defense and research sectors.

Responsibilities include system design, integration, testing, and cross-functional collaboration with acoustics, software, and production teams. Immediate CG clearance capability is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Strong understanding of power electronics, amplifiers, control systems.
• Background in Systems Engineering practices and processes.
• Understanding of New Product Introduction Processes.
• Proficiency with industry-standard tools for system design and analysis.
• Understanding of modern serial communication protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
• Effective communication skills, verbal and written, to convey technical concepts.
• Ability to be immediately cleared for Controlled Goods.

Responsibilities

• System design and development of sonar systems including power amplifiers, control and interfaces.
• System integration with existing platforms; coordinate with software and mechanical teams.
• Customization and adaptation of products as opportunities arise.
• Defense documentation review and development of required docs.
• Testing and validation procedures to assess sonar performance.
• Sales support: respond to inquiries and participate in RFP/RFQ processes.
• Production support with quality teams to ensure cost-effective manufacturing.
• Team collaboration to meet requirements, timelines, budgets, and quality.
• Cross-functional collaboration with acoustics, electrical, software, and project teams.
• Continuous improvement of engineering processes.
• Troubleshooting and technical support in deployments or tests.
• Compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety guidelines.
