Job summary
Dana Incorporated in Canada is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer to contribute to electrification technologies for automotive applications. Qualifications
- Master's degree in electrical engineering with a focus on Power Electronics; PhD is a plus.
- 3+ years with a Master's degree or 1+ years with a PhD.
- Knowledge of Altium Designer and/or other common PCB CAD tools.
- Knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink/Simscape, SPICE.
- Knowledge of requirements management tools such as Polarion, DOORS, JAMA is a plus.
- Experience in the automotive industry is a plus.
- ISO 26262 functional safety knowledge is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Develop power electronic circuits (DC/DC, DC/AC, magnetic components, switching circuits, gate drivers) aligned with functional safety (ISO 26262).
- Perform simulations and calculations to support component selection (IGBT, SiC MOSFET, capacitors, inductors, control circuits).
- Design and support PCB development, considering thermal performance and signal integrity.
- Support EMC-compliant design practices, DFMEA, risk assessments, and design reviews.
- Cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing, prototype, and benchmarking teams.
- Support customer meetings and communicate technical concepts to engineering and non-engineering stakeholders.
- Contribute documentation, design processes, and release activities for electronic products.
- Support quality problem-solving activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to R&D and evaluation of new technologies for power electronics applications; lead responses to RFIs/RFQs for new product development.
- Stay informed on competitors' products and regulatory requirements.
- Lead customer proposal meetings and internal gate reviews for new business approval.
- Collaborate with prototype, production, benchmarking teams and incorporate new features into the design roadmap.
