Job summary

Johnson Electric is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst, Finance & Operations to serve as the Power BI specialist for Canadian operations and shared services. You will design and maintain dashboards, data models, and KPI reports to drive data-driven decision making across Finance, Operations, and Supply Chain.

Leveraging ERP data sources, you will automate reporting, improve data quality, and partner with IT and business leaders to standardize reporting practices.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or reporting systems.
• Degree or diploma in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, CS, Mathematics, Finance, or related discipline.
• Advanced Power BI capabilities including data modeling, DAX, Power Query, dashboard development, and performance optimization.
• Strong SQL skills and ability to develop and troubleshoot complex queries.
• Experience integrating data from multiple business systems and optimizing reporting processes.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with ERP platforms such as Oracle or CMS is preferred.
• Manufacturing experience is an asset.
• Experience with Power Automate, Cognos, Python, or other analytics tools is an asset.
• Awareness of AI-assisted analytics tools and predictive analytics is an asset.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to translate data into insights.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to translate business requirements into practical reporting solutions.
• Attention to detail and data integrity.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Power BI subject matter expert for Canadian operations and shared services.
• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards, reports, data models, KPI scorecards, and executive-level reporting tools.
• Develop and maintain data models, relationships, measures, and calculations using DAX and Power Query.
• Enhance reporting solutions and improve accessibility, user experience, and effectiveness.
• Create automated reporting solutions to reduce manual effort and improve information availability.
• Monitor and optimize dashboard performance and data refreshes.
• Maintain reporting documentation, inventories, and user guides.
• Digitalize and automate manual business and reporting processes.
• Use Power BI, SQL, Power Query, Power Automate, and other tools to improve visibility and efficiency.
• Extract, transform, and validate data from Oracle, CMS, and other systems.
• Develop and troubleshoot SQL queries and data-extraction processes.
• Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to improve connectivity and automation.
• Evaluate new technologies and analytics tools to enhance reporting.
• Support adoption through training and user support.
• Maintain data mappings and master-data relationships in Power BI environments.
• Establish KPI definitions and reporting standards with Finance and IT.
• Ensure reporting accuracy and transparency across plants and business functions.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting with automated solutions.
• Work with controllers and leadership to understand reporting needs and business challenges.
• Assist with analysis of performance, trends, and financial results.
• Support budgeting and forecasting through reporting tools.
• Translate complex data into actionable recommendations.
• Respond to ad hoc requests from stakeholders.
