IntroductionWe are seeking a postdoctoral fellow to join the Perioperative Care and Outcomes Research (PCOR) group at the RI-MUHC Centre for Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE). The main goal of PCOR is the generation of knowledge to support evidence-based surgical care and improve postoperative outcomes in Canada and worldwide. Our work capitalizes on established and emerging principles of outcomes research to (1) create innovative, patient-centered strategies to measure postoperative outcomes, (2) assess the comparative-effectiveness of contemporary interventions to enhance recovery, and (3) develop approaches to reduce harms associated with perioperative care interventions. PCOR is a highly productive and internationally renowned research group with a track record of important contributions to the field of surgical outcomes research (https://www.mcgill.ca/pcorlab/).
Responsibilities and Objectives- Work with the principal investigator to coordinate the development of a PROM to assess recovery after abdominal surgery (60%)
- Train students and other research personnel (5%)
- Liaise with external collaborators (5%)
- Engage in management and administrative duties related to the research program (5%)
- Assist with the preparation of reports, manuscripts and grant applications (10%)
- Present work at internal, local, national, and international meetings (10%)
- Engage in graduate and undergraduate teaching opportunities (5%)
