We are seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow with excellent communication skills to lead a project titled “Obtaining patient, caregiver, and provider perspectives on disaster management in kidney care”.
Natural and human-caused disasters have increased in scope and frequency, and individuals living with kidney diseases are especially vulnerable. Our preliminary work has identified gaps in disaster preparedness within the kidney community, leading to the development of a framework for disaster risk reduction and management. The project aims to gather perspectives from patients, providers, and caregivers. Most of the work will be conducted virtually. The fellow will receive co-supervision from Dr. Sandal and another faculty member.
The fellow will lead all aspects of this project, supported by a research assistant and a lab or Master’s student.
Responsibilities and Objectives
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Designing the study, obtaining ethics approval, recruitment, data collection and analysis, manuscript preparation, and dissemination of findings.
• Collaborating with investigators across Canada and internationally, with support from our team.
• Submitting abstracts to relevant conferences and institutional seminars.
