Overview:

A career as a Portfolio Manager in National Bank's Real Estate Finance Group involves expertise in credit analysis and real estate financing structuring. This role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact through your analytical skills, real estate experience, and knowledge of finance and commercial financing.

Your Role:

• Manage complex portfolio aspects with your team, including file analysis, preparing financing offers and letters, and conducting negotiations.
• Negotiate financing terms with the credit department and with customers and prospects as needed.
• Assist in the implementation, renewal, and review of complex files alongside account managers.
• Review expert documents from consultants, lawyers, and contacts like SCHL.
• Review prerequisites before disbursements.
• Maintain the quality of the portfolio and identify sector-specific risks.

Your Team:

The Real Estate Finance group is part of the Commercial and Private Banking 1859 sector, supporting major real estate players in both construction financing and long-term asset financing. The team is motivated, collaborative, and focused on expanding in Western Canada. You will be part of a 13-member team reporting to the Senior Manager of the Portfolio Management Team.

Basic Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field with 7 years of relevant experience, or a master's degree with 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in real estate financing and commercial credit.
• Customer service and negotiation experience.
• Business development experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of business products and services.
