Fairmont Palliser in Calgary invites you to join our luxury hospitality team as a Porter. You will be an ambassador of high-end service, ensuring guests experience warmth and refinement from arrival to departure.

Reporting to the Director of Event Operations, you will set up conference and social spaces, maintain pristine event areas, assist with tear-downs, and collaborate with the events team to deliver memorable occasions.

Qualifications

• Experience in events (banquets) is an asset.
• Excellent communication in English, written and spoken.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts.
• Ability to thrive in dynamic hospitality environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide engaging and luxury service to guests

Job Description

We invite you to join the world of luxury hospitality at Fairmont Palliser as our newPorter.Inspire and create the grandest experience for our guest, clients and colleagues every day. You will be an ambassador of luxury service in Calgary’s only choice for events. As a Porter you will have the perfect opportunity to touch the hearts of our guests; providing warm, engaging service while setting and servicing our conference and social events. You will ensure that every moment becomes a memory for our guests. Reporting to the Director, Event Operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible to provide engaging and luxury service to our guests
• Set up and tear down of rooms & event areas in the hotel
• Cleaning and maintenance of event spaces, including reporting maintenance requests
• Ensuring service areas and storages are clean and tidy
• Knowledge of all meeting set-up standards
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment and ensures that all Health & Safety standards are met, procedures followed and has the knowledge and tools to work safely
• Maintain awareness of, and ensuring compliance with all food safety & hygiene policies and proceduresare followed at all times.
• Maintain awareness of, and ensuring compliance with all sustainability and food waste reduction/diversion policies, procedures and programs at the hotel.
• To follow all department and hotel policies, procedures and service standards
• Execute all other duties as assigned by the Director of Event Operations or their designate

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Events (Banquets) is considered an asset
• Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written)
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts as required
• Demonstrated ability to thrive in dynamic and fast-paced environments
• Proven ability to perform well under pressure
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Strong team player with the ability to work collaboratively with minimal supervision
