Vintage Hotels & Niagara’s Finest Hotels is seeking a Portal to join our growing team. This role offers flexibility, valuable work experience, and the opportunity to work with a tenured team.

As a Portal you will support event setups for conferences and banquets, provide personalized guest service, and contribute to up-selling goals while maintaining high standards across all duties and responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of Grade 10 Education.
  • 6 months experience in a similar position.
  • Previous up-selling and/or sales experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized and exceptional guest service.
  • Meeting established up-selling and sales goals.
  • Set up tables, chairs, linens and tableware for banquets, dinners, coffee breaks and special occasions.
  • Ensure facilities being used are clean and set up as per the supervisor’s direction.
  • Add and remove coffee station supplies as required throughout conferences and/or meetings.
  • Complete duty sheets, audio-visual sheets, billing information and other paperwork as required.
  • Having a thorough knowledge of each property’s products and services.
  • Suggest additional products and services meeting our Guests’ specific preferences.
  • Assessing Guests’ individual needs to meet standards for additional products and services.
  • Actively seeking ways to meet Guests’ product or service needs.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

Ensures that all food and beverage related facilities are set up, dissembled and/or maintained as per the standard operating guidelines for events such as conferences, meeting and special occasions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide personalized and exceptional guest service at every given opportunity
  • Meeting established up-selling and sales goals
  • Responsible for setting up tables, chairs, linens and tableware in appropriate fashion for banquets, dinners, coffee breaks and special occasions
  • Ensures that facilities being used are clean and set up as per the supervisor’s direction
  • Adds and removes coffee station supplies as required throughout conferences and/or meetings
  • Completes duty sheets, audio-visual sheets, billing information and other paperwork as required

Professional Requirements:
  • Minimum of Grade 10 Education
  • 6 months experience in a similar position

Physical Requirements:
