Job summary

Canada ICI Capital Corporation is seeking a Pool Administration Analyst to support investors' CMHC-insured securitization processes, oversee pool administration, and deliver accurate reporting. The role requires strong analytical and Excel skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Business Administration Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience in mortgage administration or securitization operations.
  • Strong computer proficiency with advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understanding of financial instruments and CMHC programs is a strong asset but not required.
  • Excellent data review, problem-solving and learning capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist investors in creating, issuing, and settling new NHA MBS pools using TAO System’s MortgageHub.
  • Adhere to CMHC guidelines and internal procedures; support securitization initiatives.
  • Provide end-to-end pool administration and prepare recurring reports for stakeholders.
  • Maintain securitization records, track exceptions, and coordinate timely resolutions.
  • Coordinate pool creation, CMHC submissions, and information circulars; support servicing agreements.

Job description

The Pool Administration Analyst will report to the VP, Credit & Strategic Initiatives and is central in supporting investors' CMHC-insured securitization processes, supporting internal pool administration, and ensuring accurate & timely reporting under CMHC's securitization programs.

The position requires a strong combination of technical execution, operational discipline, analytical skills, regulatory awareness, and excellent interpersonal and communication abilities. Key responsibilities include facilitating the execution of investors’ securitization issuance, ongoing pool administration, and preparing accurate and timely reports for investors, CMHC, and the custodian. The role also requires the ability to review operational data, identify discrepancies and follow issues through to resolution.

This position will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders, including Canada ICI’s Loan Administration, Funding, Portfolio Management, CMHC, Computershare, investors, third-party system providers (e.g., TAO Systems), and external auditors. The individual must be able to work independently, thrive in a fast-paced and highly deadline-driven environment, take initiative, and demonstrate exceptional attention to detail. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are a must.

The Pool Administration Analyst role is full-time in person at our St. Albert office.

Education & Skills:
  • Post-secondary degree in Accounting, Business Administration Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years of relevant experience in mortgage administration, securitization operations, banking operations, financial services administration, portfolio management, accounting, capital markets or a related field.
  • Strong computer proficiency, with advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Understanding of financial instruments, securitized mortgages and associated processes is a strong asset but not required.
  • Strong data review, problem-solving, and quick learning capabilities.
  • Experience with CMHC MBS and CMB is a strong asset but not required.
  • Very high attention to detail.
  • Strong data validation, reconciliation, and reporting skills, with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Extremely strong time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage tight and competing deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the VP, CSI to assist investors in creating, issuing, and settling new NHA MBS pools utilizing TAO System’s MortgageHub software.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of and adhere to CMHC’s NHA MBS and CMB Guidelines and Canada ICI internal procedures and processes.
  • Support new securitization initiatives in collaboration with the VP, CSI and Investors’ Capital Markets team and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Support internal end-to-end securitization and on-going pool administration process and work collaboratively with Investors’ Capital Markets team, including:
    • Review and validate mortgage and pool data before submission through Computershare portal.
    • Prepare recurring reports for investors, CMHC, custodians, and internal stakeholders.
    • Maintain complete and accurate securitization records and supporting documentation.
    • Track operational exceptions and coordinate timely resolution with internal and external stakeholders, escalating complex issues as appropriate.
