Job summary

Safran, a leader in aerospace systems, seeks an Inspector to perform visual, dimensional, and polishing inspections at the Mirabel site. You will verify documentation and support receiving/shipping activities while collaborating with Quality, Methods, and Procurement teams.

With a focus on accuracy and process control, you will record data in SAP and contribute to a robust quality system. The role offers day shifts and growth within a high-tech manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

High School Diploma required; equivalent not accepted.
2 years of visual and dimensional inspection experience.
2 years of polishing or grinding experience.

Responsibilities

Inspect parts visually, dimensionally, and for polishing-related variants and verify documentation.
Inspect parts with subcontracted processes (e.g., HVOF, Nickel, Chrome) and verify documentation.
Inspect parts according to established ranges and verify documentation.
Perform touch-ups on parts when applicable.
Handle receiving/shipping tasks and related activities.
Create non-conformance reports in the QIS system.
Communicate with Supplier Quality, Methods, Procurement, and Planning teams as needed.
Record transactions in SAP and sample parts for inspection.

Safran Landing Systems is a subsidiary of Safran Landing Systems, a world leader in landing and braking systems for aircraft. The Mirabel plant is dedicated to the manufacturing of major components for landing gear for Airbus A320, A330, and A350 models, as well as the Boeing 787. It features state-of-the-art equipment for machining, polishing, and special processes, including heat treatment, shot peening, and surface treatments.

The Missions Are As Follows

Perform visual, dimensional, and specific inspections of our parts for which polishing operations are subcontracted and verify the documentation.
Perform visual, dimensional, and specific inspections of our parts for which process operations are subcontracted (HVOF, Nickel, Chrome, etc.) and verify the documentation.
Perform visual, dimensional, and specific inspections of our parts according to established operational ranges and verify the documentation.
When applicable, perform touch-ups on parts.
Carry out other tasks related to handling and receiving/shipping.
Create, if necessary, non-conformance reports in the QIS system.
Communicate, if necessary, with Supplier Quality, Methods, Procurement, and Planning teams.
Record transactions in SAP.
Ensure sampling of parts inspection.
Perform other tasks related to receiving/shipping.

Let's Talk About You

High School Diploma (equivalent not accepted)
2 years of experience in visual and dimensional inspection
2 years of experience in polishing or grinding

Technical Skills

Ability to inspect polished parts (finishes, radii, etc.)
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Knowledge of quality assurance principles
Ability to write Non-conformities in QIS
Knowledge of our various parts and the manufacturing process
Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, etc.)

Day shift, Monday to Friday from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM

Note: Depending on the collective agreement rules, the position may change shifts (evening, night, or weekend)

The salary for this position starts between $27.85 and $37.87 per hour, depending on your skills, experience, and qualifications. With internal training and your progression in acquiring skills related to the position, the hourly wage will increase up to a maximum of $42.04.
