Job summary

Safran is seeking craftsmen at our Mirabel plant to perform grinding of attachment points on main landing gear components using manual air tools or semi-automatic equipment. Precision is essential to ensure exact dimensions for later assembly.

You will prepare parts, inspect with calipers and micrometers, document QA results, and contribute to safety, quality and efficiency goals while working in a modern facility with advanced equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; equivalence certificate not accepted.
• Experience with manual work using pneumatic tools in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in manual grinding is an asset.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and use calipers and micrometers is an asset.
• Good manual dexterity and attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills and strong organizational abilities.
• Rigor and autonomy in tasks.
• Ability to prioritize and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the part and, if necessary, perform assembly on the equipment.
• Inspect parts using measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Complete the appropriate quality assurance documentation.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of operations and the achievement of objectives in terms of safety, quality, costs, and on-time deliveries.

You will perform, using manual air tools or semi-automatic equipment, the grinding of attachment points of the main landing gear components according to specifications. These operations require a high level of precision to create the exact dimensions to accommodate other mechanical parts later on.

Requirements

Evening shift: from Monday to Thursday from 2:20 PM to 12:20 AM

Note: Depending on the collective agreement rules, the position may change shifts (day, evening, night, or weekend)

• The salary for this position starts between $27.85 and $37.87 per hour, depending on your skills, experience, and qualifications. With internal training and your progression in acquiring skills related to the position, the hourly wage will increase up to a maximum of $42.04.
