Job summary

Impact Recruitment is assisting a client in Toronto, Ontario, to recruit an experienced Policy and Compliance Manager, Human Resources. The role focuses on shaping HR policies, driving compliance initiatives, and aligning organizational standards with legislative requirements.

You will lead a team, collaborate with senior leadership, and guide cross-functional partners to strengthen HR practices and minimize risk while delivering measurable improvements.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in HR, policy development, compliance, governance, or a related field.
  • Experience in a large, complex organization and with leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and organizational compliance.
  • Proven ability to develop, implement, and improve policies and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, compliance programs, and internal standards.
  • Lead and mentor a team with coaching, performance support, and development opportunities.
  • Partner with business leaders on complex HR, compliance, and employee relations matters.

The Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in human resources, policy development, compliance, governance, or a related field.
  • Experience working within a large, complex organization is considered a strong asset.
  • Previous leadership experience with a demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation, HR best practices, and organizational compliance.
  • Experience developing, implementing, or improving policies, procedures, and business processes.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and collaborate effectively with leaders and stakeholders across an organization.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop practical solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office, with the ability to leverage data to support decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • A proactive, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach with a commitment to continuous learning and process improvement.
  • This position is fully in office, but will require occasional travel, candidates must be able to travel to the United States and Internationally.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Annual salary range is $135,000 - $150,000, depending on experience.
  • Discretionary bonus.
