Job summary

BC College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM) in Vancouver, BC, is seeking a Policy Consultant to advance nursing and midwifery standards. Under the Director of Standards & Policy Development, you will conduct policy research, analyze regulations, and help design and implement standards of practice across the college.

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with up to three remote days, a starting base salary of CAD 125,417 to 131,689 plus benefits, vacation, and pension.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree plus specialized nursing or midwifery education.
  • 7–10 years of policy development experience and regulatory knowledge.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Commitment to Indigenous cultural safety and anti-racism.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, and evaluate policy to reflect best practice in regulation.
  • Analyze proposed policies and respond to external regulatory bodies.
  • Lead policy development projects with scope, schedule, and quality.
  • Collaborate with regulators and stakeholders on policy design and implementation.
  • Prepare reports and briefings for Leadership Team or Board approval.
  • Communicate standards of practice and policies to staff and licensees.
