Job summary

Community Living British Columbia seeks a Policy & Practice Analyst to support policy development, implementation, and continuous improvement for quality service delivery. You will analyze data, develop resources, and provide guidance to promote consistent practice across CLBC.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Human Services and at least two years’ direct social service delivery experience, with knowledge of individualized funding and community-based supports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field with 2+ years in social service delivery.
• Direct experience with individualized funding or individualized service delivery approaches.
• Experience with community-based supports and services and how they respond to needs.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Manager, Policy & Government Relations on policy development and trends.
• Support ongoing review and improvement of CLBC's service delivery model and policy approaches.
• Review policies in light of new developments and identify updates required.
• Develop and update standards, forms, agreements, processes, and guidance for consistent policy application.
• Build and maintain relationships with CLBC managers, staff, and government counterparts.

About the opportunity

As a Policy & Practice Analyst at CLBC, you will be supporting the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of policies, programs, standards, and practices that promote quality service delivery to individuals and families supported by CLBC. You will be conducting analysis, developing resources and guidance, and supporting policy-related learning to promote consistent practice and advance organizational priorities and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Collaborating with the Manager, Policy & Government Relations on policy and practice development, implementation, and emerging issues and trends
• Supporting the ongoing review and improvement of CLBC's service delivery model and related policy and practice approaches
• Reviewing existing policies and practices in response to new developments and identifies where updates or adaptations may be required.
• Developing and updating standards, forms, agreements, processes, practice guides, and other resources that support the consistent interpretation and application of policy
• Building and maintaining collaborative working relationships with CLBC managers and staff and appropriate counterparts in other government organizations.

The successful candidate will have the ability to analyze and synthesize diverse information and data and identify relevant implications, opportunities, and considerations. They will also have strong writing and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex policy and practice information clearly and concisely.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in Human Services, or related field and a minimum of 2 years' direct experience in social service delivery, preferably within the community living sector, or a combination of transferable skills, knowledge, lived experience, and comparable qualifications for consideration.
• Direct experience with individualized funding and/or individualized service delivery approaches.
• Direct experience with community-based supports and services and how they respond to the needs of individuals and families.
• Experience with individualized community living options (e.g., Home Sharing and Community Inclusion), individualized funding, and community-based supports and services is an asset.
• Direct experience with or knowledge of social policy development is an asset.
• Experience in a public sector organization is an asset.
