Job summary

Saint John Board of Police Commissioners seeks a forward-looking Chief of Police to lead the police service as CEO of the Force in Saint John, NB. The Chief will champion ethical, lawful, community-centred policing and provide visible leadership across the organization.

Reporting to the Commission, the Chief will shape strategy, performance, and partnerships, oversee budgets and personnel, and ensure compliance with Police Act and provincial standards, with residency locally expected.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education relevant to policing, public administration or leadership.
• Experience leading organizational transformation, equity-focused initiatives or modern police-service delivery.
• Proven ability to work with diverse communities and stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Police Force as CEO, ensuring performance, conduct and community safety outcomes.
• Provide visible leadership, uphold integrity and foster public trust and partnerships.
• Develop and oversee budget, personnel development, succession planning and policy compliance.
