Responsibilities
Our priority is to make sure we hire maintenance technicians that care about the safety of our drivers and the service provided to the community. As a PM service Technician with us the minimum responsibilities are:
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and equipment, including lubrication, oil changes, fluid checks, and filter replacements.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment for signs of wear, leaks, or potential mechanical issues, and report findings to the lead mechanic or supervisor.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the maintenance bay, tools, and equipment to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Assist mechanics with basic repairs and part replacements as directed, including tire checks, battery maintenance, and light mechanical tasks.
- Document all maintenance activities accurately using fleet maintenance software, including services performed and parts used.
- Monitor and replenish shop supplies such as grease, oil, filters, and cleaning materials.
- Support road call responses by preparing tools and parts or assisting with minor on-site maintenance tasks.
- Communicate professionally and courteously with drivers and other team members regarding vehicle conditions and maintenance needs.
- Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations as outlined by the Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Environment, and Waste Connections of Canada.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or lead technician.
What We Need From You
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience performing preventative maintenance on diesel trucks or heavy equipment, including oil changes, lubrication, and basic inspections.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and understanding of vehicle systems, including diagnostic and maintenance software
- Valid Class G driver’s license
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow maintenance schedules and safety procedures.
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements
