Job summary

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership, a Johnson Controls subsidiary, invites applications for a Plumbing Apprentice at our Nisku facility. You will assist journeypersons in installation, maintenance, and repairs for a large manufacturing environment, and you must have reliable transportation.

This night-shift role runs Friday to Sunday (6 PM–6 AM).The position emphasizes safety, teamwork, and hands-on plumbing work with copper, PVC, hand and power tools, under Alberta regulations.

Qualifications

• Registered as a Plumbing Apprentice in Alberta and enrolled in a recognized trade school.
• Ability to work under the supervision of Journeyperson plumbers, as part of a team, and independently.
• Experience with routine electrical maintenance operations is an asset.
• Highly flexible with strong interpersonal skills for a diverse environment.
• Ability to communicate clearly, verbally and in writing.
• Able to work well under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
• Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully and professionally.

Responsibilities

• Assist Journeypersons in installation, maintenance, and repairs for plumbing and heating in a large manufacturing environment.
• Set priorities on work assignments and meet deadlines.
• Able to braze/solder copper pipe.
• Able to work with PVC pipe.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Participate in proper clean-ups to maintain a safe, efficient work area.
• Keep knowledge current with changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques.
• Perform duties in accordance with safety program standards and Alberta OH&S Act.
• Other duties as required.
