Job summary

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership in Alberta is seeking a Plumbing Apprentice to support Journeyperson plumbers in installation, maintenance and repairs within a large manufacturing environment at our Nisku facility. The role requires reliable transportation and will be offered on a Friday to Sunday night shift (6 PM - 6 AM).

You will assist with brazing/soldering copper pipe, PVC piping, and general plumbing tasks, under supervision, while prioritizing safety and quality in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

  • Registered as a Plumbing Apprentice in Alberta and enrolled in a recognized trade school.
  • Ability to work under supervision of Journeyperson plumbers, as part of a team or independently.
  • Experience with routine electrical maintenance operations is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Journeyperson plumbers in installation, maintenance and repairs.
  • Braze/solder copper pipe and work with PVC pipe.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and maintain a clean work area.
  • Follow safety policies and comply with applicable regulations.

Overview

Silent-Aire Limited Partnership is a wholly owned subsidiary of Johnson Controls. Silent-Aire is a technology driven company that designs, engineers and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions.


This role is located at our facility in Nisku and you must have a reliable transportation to commute.

This role will be offered to work Friday to Sunday Nightshift (6 PM - 6 AM).

ThePlumbing ApprenticewillassisttheJourneypersonPlumber(s) in installation, maintenance, and repairs associated with plumbing and heating requirements for a large manufacturing environment.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Excellent facilitation, investigation,and problem-solving skills.

  • Sets prioritiesonwork assignments and hasabilityto meet established deadlines.

  • Able to braze/solder copper pipe.

  • Able to work with PVC pipe.

  • Experiencewithhandand powertools.

  • Participatein proper clean-ups to ensure an efficient and safe work environment.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance,and repair techniques.

  • Performs all dutiesin accordance withSilent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.

  • Other duties asrequired.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Registered as aPlumbing Apprentice in Alberta and enrolled in a recognized trade school.

  • Ability to work under the supervision ofJourneypersonplumbers, as part of a team, and independently in a busy environment.

  • Experience with routine electrical maintenance operationsisan asset.

  • Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.

  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

  • Able to work well under pressure.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionallyat all times.

Working Conditions
  • 24/7 availability may berequired.

  • Physical ability tolift upto 50lbs.

  • Travel to off-site locations may berequired.

  • Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).

  • Overtime asrequired.

  • Hazards associated withthe trade.

  • Work both indoors andoutdoors,may be exposed to construction sites.
