Salary: The salary range for this position is CAD $39.21 per hour.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Plant Services, the incumbent performs skilled plumbing work at the journeyman level, including testing, installation, alteration, and repair of plumbing systems, natural gas piping, appliances, and accessories. Responsibilities include maintenance and repair of building systems, emergency power, and related equipment.

Responsibilities

1. Review work requests, interpret blueprints, and determine materials and costs.
2. Prepare for projects by scheduling and assembling supplies.
3. Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair plumbing and gas systems, including cross connection control devices.
4. Perform scheduled and demand maintenance on building installations and equipment.
5. Repair plumbing fixtures and maintain domestic water systems.
6. Maintain and repair building fabric, including walls, ceilings, and floors.
7. Log activities and maintain records for preventative maintenance.
8. Manage inventory and recommend purchases.
9. Ensure readiness of emergency systems and perform inspections.
10. Liaise with contractors, review drawings, and update plans.
11. Perform emergency snow and ice removal.
12. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: Certificate of Apprenticeship or Trades Qualification Certificate as a journeyman Plumber, Class B Gas Fitter's License with electrical endorsement recognized by BC, and valid Cross Connection Control Specialist Certificate. Two years' recent related experience or equivalent.

Skills and Abilities: Effective communication, physical ability, blueprint reading, organizational skills, operation of related equipment.
