Job summary

A-1 Drainage Plumbing & Heating Ltd is seeking a skilled tradesperson to join our Vancouver-area team. The successful candidate will read plans, prepare quotes, and install and test plumbing and drainage systems across residential, commercial, and industrial settings.

You will coordinate with supervisors, ensure safety, and contribute to project cost estimates. Applicants should have 3–5 years of related experience and a certificate or diploma in a trades program.

Qualifications

  • Strong teamwork and communication with field crews and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and specs to plan plumbing layouts and drainage systems.
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for projects.
  • Mark wall/floor locations for pipe connections and fixtures.
  • Cut openings to fit pipes and fittings.
  • Join pipes using various fittings and welding methods.
  • Schedule personnel, tools and equipment for jobs.
  • Test pipes for leaks with air and water gauges.
  • Determine piping requirements and sizing.
  • Estimate costs and materials for projects.
  • Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes as needed.

Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine layout of plumbing system, water supply network and waste and drainage systems
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes and fixtures in walls and floors
  • Cut opening in walls and floors to accommodate pipe and pipe fittings
  • Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement or soldering, brazing and welding equipment
  • Schedule personnel, tools and equipment
  • Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges
  • Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size
