Qualifications

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Tasks

1. Read blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of plumbing systems, water supply networks, and waste and drainage systems.
2. Locate and mark positions for pipe connections, passage holes, and fixtures in walls and floors.
3. Cut openings in walls and floors to accommodate pipes and fittings.
4. Join pipes using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, soldering, brazing, or welding equipment.
5. Test pipes for leaks using air and water pressure gauges.
6. Determine piping system requirements and pipe sizing.
7. Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes to the required shape and size.
