Job summary

Surrey School District is seeking a Plumber Tradesperson to handle renovations, repairs, and installations across more than 140 district sites. You will join a small team and may work independently with other trades to deliver high-quality work.

Applicants must have a valid BC Driver's license, an Interprovincial plumbing TQ with Red Seal, and a Class B Gasfitter license. The position is unionized and pays $40.65 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package.

Surrey School District has an exciting opportunity in our Plumbing department! Reporting to the Manager of Structural Maintenance within the Facilities Division, the Plumber Tradesperson is responsible for a variety of projects including renovations, repairs, and new installations in over 140 school district sites and offices. The successful applicants must be a team-player ready to be prepared to work effectively in a small team, as well as independently, along side all in-house trades to complete top quality work in various District facilities. Experience and training in institutional facilities is a bonus!

The successful applicants will have access to top-quality tools and equipment, a well-maintained fleet of vehicles and the beautiful District Facilities Centre located in the heart of Surrey.

Applicants must have:

• A valid Class 5 BC Drivers license
• Interprovincial trades qualification (TQ) in Plumbing with a Red Seal endorsement
• Class B Gasfitter License
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a variety of plumbing work
• Sufficient physical strength and health to perform the duties of the position are required.
• Sprinkler Fitter Journeyman Certificate is an asset.
• Cross Connection Control Certificate is an asset.

This is a unionized position that offers an hourly wage rate of $40.65 per hour plus a liberal benefit package including pension, health, vacation, and sick benefits.
