What to Expect in this Role:
You'll be supporting adults with Autism and OCD in and around the community, driving individuals to their places of activity in a group living setting. With a passion for supporting people with disabilities, you will:
What You Bring:
You are compassionate, attentive, and passionate about working with people with disabilities. You are comfortable with providing full personal care, participating in social and recreational activities, advocating for individuals in the community, and encouraging healthy lifestyles and social interactions. You have a good knowledge of community events and activities that could be useful to integrate individuals. You are professional, take ownership, and are willing to follow the agency's policies and procedures. You are solution-driven, able to identify the needs of individuals' apprehensions/concerns. You are willing to take the time to understand and know your individuals and act/respond in their best interest while maintaining professional boundaries. You have previous experience working with individuals with disabilities; therefore, you are willing to research, develop, and implement programs to provide for the growth of the individual. You can easily manage administrative work to create rapport for the individual.
This Temporary position 32-hour/week position ends on January 05, 2026.
The schedule will be:
Tuesday and Thursday - 7:00 am - 5:00 pm (Blackthorn group home)
Saturday and Sunday - 7:00 am - 5:00 pm (Scenic Acres group home)
The starting pay rate for this position will be $21.19. After a three-month probationary period, you will be eligible for cost-shared health and dental benefits along with 5 flex days after the three months of employment. As driving is a requirement, we reimburse the mileage at $0.50/km.
