We ensure client needs are met through a strong team approach where the client, guardian, frontline and management staff work together as partners.

We offer a supportive team environment, development opportunities, competitive wages and benefits.

Blackthorn - Regular Community Disability Practitioner

Why New Age Services:

We offer a supportive team environment, ongoing training and developmental opportunities, competitive wages and benefits. We value diversity and believe it makes us stronger - the equal representation of human differences and equal opportunity for growth, advancement, and reward. • Caring - We go the extra mile to build caring and meaningful relationships
  • Empower - We empower employees to take initiatives
  • Ownership - We expect everyone to take ownership and share the workload
  • Learning - We welcome new ways of thinking and better ways of acting

What to Expect in this Role:

You'll be supporting adults with Autism and OCD in and around the community, driving individuals to their places of activity in a group living setting. With a passion for supporting people with disabilities, you will:

  • Provide medical, technological, environmental, emotional, physical, and behavioural support
  • Participate in the research, development, and implementation of client programs
  • Support with transportation to medical appointments, community activities, or scheduled events
  • Provide support and assistance in daily living tasks and maintenance around the home
  • Learn the behavioural support plans to better understand client needs
  • Complete required client documentation effectively

What You Bring:

You are compassionate, attentive, and passionate about working with people with disabilities. You are comfortable with providing full personal care, participating in social and recreational activities, advocating for individuals in the community, and encouraging healthy lifestyles and social interactions. You have a good knowledge of community events and activities that could be useful to integrate individuals. You are professional, take ownership, and are willing to follow the agency's policies and procedures. You are solution-driven, able to identify the needs of individuals' apprehensions/concerns. You are willing to take the time to understand and know your individuals and act/respond in their best interest while maintaining professional boundaries. You have previous experience working with individuals with disabilities; therefore, you are willing to research, develop, and implement programs to provide for the growth of the individual. You can easily manage administrative work to create rapport for the individual.
