Job summary

Enbridge seeks a Pipeline Maintenance Technician II to maintain liquid pipeline infrastructure in the Fort McMurray region. You will perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on pipelines and related facilities, troubleshoot mechanical equipment, and support integrity programs to ensure safe operations.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of experience in pipeline, terminal, facility, or oil and gas maintenance operations.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience maintaining rotating and stationary equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, technical drawings, manuals, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on liquids pipelines and facilities.
• Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and maintain pumps, valves, motors, meters, piping, and other equipment.
• Support integrity programs through inspections, corrosion control, leak detection, and maintenance activities.
• Execute work orders and document maintenance activities using CMMS.
• Participate in facility turnarounds, commissioning, hydrostatic testing, pigging, and major projects.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Integrity and contractors to improve equipment performance.
• Contribute to safety culture by hazard assessments and safe work practices.

What You Will Do:

• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance on liquids pipelines and associated facilities to support safe, reliable operations.
• Troubleshoot, inspect, repair, and maintain pumps, valves, motors, meters, piping systems, and other mechanical equipment.
• Support pipeline integrity programs through inspections, corrosion control activities, leak detection initiatives, and maintenance programs.
• Execute work orders, document maintenance activities, and maintain regulatory compliance using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Participate in facility turnarounds, commissioning activities, hydrostatic testing, pigging operations, and major maintenance projects.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Integrity, and contractor teams to improve equipment performance and operational effectiveness.
• Contribute to a strong safety culture by conducting hazard assessments, following safe work practices, and supporting emergency response activities when required.

Who You Are:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in pipeline, terminal, facility, or oil and gas maintenance operations.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
• Experience maintaining rotating and stationary equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, technical drawings, equipment manuals, and operational procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in both independent and team environments.
• Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence.

Preferred:

• Journeyperson certification as a Millwright, Industrial Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Technician, Instrumentation Technician, Power Engineer, or a related trade.
• Experience working on liquids pipeline systems and associated facilities.
• Familiarity with centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, valve actuators, and metering equipment.
• Current certifications such as H2S Alive, First Aid/CPR, WHMIS, TDG, Confined Space Entry, and Fall Protection.

Working Conditions:

• Based in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
• 7 days on / 7 days off rotation consisting of 12-hour shifts during the weekdays and 10-hour shifts on weekends.
• Participate in a rotating on call schedule for when on shift.
• Regular travel to remote pipeline facilities, pump stations, valve sites, and right-of-way locations throughout the operating area.
• Combination of indoor and outdoor work in varying weather and environmental conditions.
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg), and perform physically demanding tasks.
• Participation in emergency response activities and after-hours callouts as operational needs require.
• Additional overtime opportunities may be available during maintenance projects, outages, and emergency response events.
