We are seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician to promote a high-performance safety culture, lead production of quality parts, and maintain equipment to target efficiency daily.   • Post Secondary Education- Electro-Mechanical Technician Diploma or Equilavelent.
  • Provincial Certification Red Seal 309A or 442A required
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of technical controls and strong troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently and problem solve
  • Proficient in Microsoft office

Responsibilities

  • Trouble shoot equipment including weld controllers, robotics and PLCs.
  • Design electrical and electronic circuits.
  • Program PLCs, AC/DC drives and Servo Drives.
  • Modify robot, PLC programs and machine screen interfaces; equipment maintenance.
  • Change welding consumables as needed.
  • Trouble shoot and repair equipment components.
  • Adjust MIG and spot welding schedules on Medar, Lincoln, Miller and Panasonic weld controllers.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments and OHSA.
  • Review and troubleshoot downtime issues and work with Production/Quality to reduce cycle times.

Job Summary

Promote a high-performance safety culture, lead the production of quality parts, and ensure required efficiency targets are achieved by maintaining equipment on a daily basis

Required Education & Experience
  • Post Secondary Education- Electro-Mechanical Technician Diploma or Equilavelent.
  • Provincial Certification Red Seal 309A or 442A required
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Knowledge of technical controls and strong troubleshooting skills

Essential Functions

  • Ensure compliance with codes, standards and legislation: Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments and Occupational Health and Safety Act
Decision Making And Authority
  • Quantities measurables:
  • Review and troubleshoot downtime issues.
  • Work with Production, Quality to help reduce cycle times.
Work Environment
  • 20% office,80% plant floor (PPE required)
  • Frequent requirement of handling heavy operation equipment
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work on computer for long periods of time
  • Ability to be present on the production floor daily
  • Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.
  • Must be able to work with push pull forces of up to 50lbs. or less
Health, Safety And Environment
  • Must work in accordance with health and safety regulations, company rules, plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company.
  • All employees are prohibited from walking under a suspended hoist, cranes or forklifts.
  • All employees must follow all LOTO procedures
  • Comply with all environmental requirements including our recycling program.
