Job summary

Martinrea International Inc. is seeking a skilled Electro-Mechanical Technician to lead the production of quality parts and maintain equipment daily. The role requires PLC programming, robotics troubleshooting, and strong problem-solving in a factory setting.

You will design circuits, program controllers, supervise weld controllers, and ensure compliance with safety standards while working on heavy machinery on the plant floor. A Red Seal and 3–5 years' experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Post Secondary Education in electro-mechanical trades or equivalent.
• Red Seal certification (309A or 442A) is required.
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot equipment including weld controllers, robotics, and PLCs.
• Design electrical and electronic circuits.
• Program PLCs, AC/DC drives, and servo drives.
• Modify robot and machine interfaces and PLC programs.
• Perform equipment maintenance and change welding consumables.
• Troubleshoot and repair components on welding equipment.

Job Summary

Promote a high-performance safety culture, lead the production of quality parts, and ensure required efficiency targets are achieved by maintaining equipment on a daily basis

Required Education & Experience

• Post Secondary Education- Electro-Mechanical Technician Diploma or Equilavelent.
• Provincial Certification Red Seal 309A or 442A required
• 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Knowledge of technical controls and strong troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and problem solve
• Proficient in Microsoft office

Essential Functions

• Trouble shoot equipment consisting of weld controllers, robotics and programmable logic controllers
• Design electrical and electronic circuits
• Program PLC's, AC/DC drives and Servo Drives
• Modify robot, PLC programs and machine screen interfaces
• Equipment maintenance
• Change welding consumables as needed
• Trouble shoot and repair equipment components
• Adjust MIG and spot welding schedules on Medar, Lincoln, Miller and Panasonic weld controllers
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards and legislation: Environmental Legislation, O. Reg 851 for Industrial Establishments and Occupational Health and Safety Act

Decision Making And Authority

• Quantities measurables:
• Review and troubleshoot downtime issues.
• Work with Production, Quality to help reduce cycle times.

Work Environment

• 20% office,80% plant floor (PPE required)
• Frequent requirement of handling heavy operation equipment

Physical Demands

• Ability to work on computer for long periods of time
• Ability to be present on the production floor daily
• Must be able to lift up to 35lbs.
• Must be able to work with push pull forces of up to 50lbs. or less

• Must work in accordance with health and safety regulations, company rules, plant rules, policies and procedures
• Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company.
• All employees are prohibited from walking under a suspended hoist, cranes or forklifts.
• All employees must follow all LOTO procedures
• Comply with all environmental requirements including our recycling program.
