United States Digital Space LLC in Toronto is seeking an experienced SDET to design and maintain automation frameworks, focusing on Playwright. Candidates should have extensive experience in API testing and Java-based automation frameworks.
The position offers a hybrid work model and a competitive salary range of CAD 55,000 – 73,000 per year, along with performance-based bonuses and well-being programs.
Design, develop, and maintain robust Playwright-based automation frameworks for web applications. Create automated test scripts for web applications and APIs. Ensure comprehensive test coverage for frontend (UI) and backend (API, database) components. Conduct comprehensive API testing to validate functionality, reliability, and performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high‑quality software solutions. Apply knowledge of Generative AI platforms to test AI‑driven features or use AI tools to optimise the testing lifecycle. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on testing progress and quality metrics.
Overall 5‑7 years of experience as an SDET or in a similar automation testing role. Must have 2+ years of strong hands‑on experience with Playwright (JavaScript/TypeScript). Minimum 4 years of hands‑on experience with Java‑based test automation frameworks (Selenium, TestNG, JUnit). Must have hands‑on experience in API testing and proficiency in using Rest Assured for API automation testing. Solid understanding of test automation frameworks, test design patterns, and best practices. Knowledge of CI/CD integration tools and practices. Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies. Should be an individual contributor with good collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
Base salary ranges between CAD 55,000 – 73,000 per year, depending on relevant education, work and/or management experience, and other business‑related and job‑necessary qualifications. Eligible for the company’s discretionary annual performance‑based bonus, as well as benefits that support physical, mental and financial wellbeing.
Hybrid work: 4 days a week in the company or client office in Toronto. We support a healthy work‑life balance through our well‑being programmes.
