Job summary

Kaluza is seeking a Client Support Engineer in Melbourne to combine deep technical support with hands-on engineering. You will build tooling, data models, and infrastructure to make the support function faster and leaner, covering data, automation, and platform aspects.

The role involves proactive incident management, data-driven problem solving, and collaboration with product and engineering teams to deliver timely, accurate updates and lasting fixes. Hybrid work with in-office days is expected.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to investigate issues, identify root causes, and define effective solutions.
• Experience building and maintaining SQL data models (DBT, Dataform, or similar).
• Experience architecting and maintaining TypeScript applications.
• Solid Python skills, with experience calling and integrating REST APIs.
• Exposure to infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and cloud infrastructure (AWS), including serverless and Kubernetes patterns.
• Experience or willingness to use AI tooling to increase automation across support workflows.
• Knowledge of the energy industry or SaaS business models.
• Technical awareness of modern technologies and microservices architecture.
• High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, stay organized, and adapt quickly.
• Strong communication and influencing skills with stakeholders.
• Collaborative mindset across teams and locations.

Responsibilities

• Act as the go-to expert for early support on the Retail Energy platform and drive fixes through the incident process.
• Build and maintain SQL-based reporting models (DBT/Dataform on Databricks or BigQuery) to identify gaps.
• Automate manual workflows in Python or TypeScript against internal APIs or services to reduce resolution time.
• Deploy and maintain infrastructure behind these processes using serverless and Kubernetes-based scheduled jobs.
• Define infrastructure as code with Terraform and implement monitoring and alerts.
• Join the 24/7 on-call rotation to maintain platform stability.
• Share learnings with the engineering community and improve operational performance.
