Job summary

Irving Shipbuilding in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, is seeking a co-op/entry-level engineer to join cross-functional teams on the RCD program. You will gain hands-on experience with supply chain and design/build groups to understand how large projects are coordinated from start to finish.

This full-time in-office role requires enrollment in a 4-year engineering degree, 0–2 years of experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Experience with 3D model viewers is a plus.

As an added perk, Irving Shipbuilding will cover co‑op fees up to $1,000.

Responsibilities

• Prepare presentations relevant to department priorities.
• Synthesize data relevant to department priorities.
• Communicate and coordinate actions relevant to department priorities.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a 4-year Engineering degree program.
• 0-2 years’ experience.
• Experience with 3D model viewers consider an asset.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, openness to learning.
• Skilled in organizing and managing a variety of tasks with varying priorities and is a fast learner and effective problem solver.
• Interest in shipbuilding, defense, or marine industry and a desire to join an exciting, fast-paced organization.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
