Job summary

Irving Shipbuilding invites applications for a Field Service Engineering co-op student role in Halifax. You will work closely with our production team on active ship builds, contributing to design evaluation and schedule coordination while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic environment.

We value strong communication, problem-solving, and organization. You will be supported by mentors and may participate in process improvements as we pursue efficiency and innovation.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Engineering degree program.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience welcome.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and open to learning new tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Tackle real engineering challenges alongside our production crew during active ship builds.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled in an Engineering degree program.
• 0-2 years of relevant experience (co-op, internship, or volunteer work welcome).
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite and open to learning new tools and technologies.
• Highly organized, able to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities.
• A fast learner and effective problem solver who thrives in dynamic environments.

Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).

Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
