Job description

6-month contract M365/Digital Workplace Engineer role with a global retail organization with an on-site work environment.

  • Enterprise organization headquartered in Vancouver
  • On site work arrangement, 4 days a week in office
What & Why:

As a result of continued investment in global workplace technology, our client is looking to add a Digital Workplace Engineer to engineer and improve the collaboration and productivity platforms employees use every day. SharePoint Online is the primary area of expertise for this role, backed by broader hands‑on experience across the Microsoft 365 ecosystem (Teams, OneDrive, M365 Groups). You’ll also engineer across a breadth of other applications beyond Microsoft 365, including Zoom, Miro and Figma. You’ll design, build and deploy platform capabilities, create automation and integrations that simplify administration and provisioning, and own changes from technical design through production support. You’ll also strengthen governance and security controls, evaluate new vendor releases, troubleshoot complex cross‑platform issues, and partner with architecture, security, product and business teams to make the digital workplace more reliable, secure and easy to use.

Who:

This client is one of the most recognizable Canadian brands, a true Vancouver success story who has expanded globally. They are well known for their corporate culture and has won major awards for their accomplishments. They have invested majorly in technology and have had an incredibly successful past few years, including a major strategic acquisition. They have an all‑star leadership team who keeps you accountable and provides support while still affording you tremendous autonomy. They are located close to rapid transit in newly renovated offices in downtown Vancouver and have a primarily in office work environment with 4 days a week in office.

You:

You will bring the following education, skills and experience to the role:

  • 4-7 years of engineering experience designing, engineering, implementing or supporting enterprise platforms or SaaS solutions, with a bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience
  • Strong hands‑on Microsoft 365 engineering experience in a complex enterprise environment, with SharePoint Online as the primary area of expertise, ideally supported by broader experience across Teams, OneDrive, M365 Groups, governance and identity/access integration
  • Experience engineering and supporting multiple enterprise SaaS platforms beyond Microsoft 365 (e.g. Zoom, Miro, Figma), rather than a single application
  • Experience building automation and integrations using tools such as PowerShell, Microsoft Graph API, REST APIs or Power Automate, plus the ability to troubleshoot complex cross‑platform issues and find root causes
Compensation:

This role pays between $60-70 per hour.
