Our client is looking for a highly skilled Platform Engineer to join their team for an exciting cloud migration initiative. The successful candidate will be involved in the migration of services to Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), supporting platform, DevOps, and middleware tasks. This role is critical to ensuring a smooth transition as the migration process begins in April 2025. The contract is set to last for 12 months with the potential for extension based on performance and project needs.

This position is required to work on-site 1-2 days per week at the client site in Victoria, BC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the migration of BC Pension Corporation’s services to Azure, with Oracle components (Forms, Reports, BIPs) transitioning to OCI.
• Participate in the upgrades and consolidation of applications that are incompatible with the new cloud environment.
• Assist in transitioning Java and Tomcat applications to a managed services model.
• Collaborate with development teams to implement DevOps practices, ensuring smooth continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Configure and manage platform and middleware services using tools like GitHub, Ansible, J-Frog, and Dapr (with a focus on managing passwords/certificates).
• Provide technical support for cloud configurations and platform-related tasks to support the migration effort.
  
  

Required Skills and Experience:

• Proven experience in cloud migrations, particularly with Azure.
• Strong expertise in DevOps tools, including GitHub, Ansible, and J-Frog.
• Experience with Dapr, especially for managing passwords and certificates.
• Solid understanding of platform engineering and middleware technologies.
• Experience transitioning Java and Tomcat applications to a managed services model.
• Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and Oracle components (Forms, Reports, BIPs) is a plus.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
