Job summary

Reporting to : Focus Factory Manager

Qualifications :

Education : Post-Secondary school certificate, diploma as Injection Mold Technician or equivalent plastic processing experience

Experience : 2-3 years experience in an automotive manufacturing environment

  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Experience with injection mold technology and design
  • Experience with robotics, automation and controls
  • Knowledge of de-couple molding and procedures is an asset

Training : Training requirements and courses will be specified on the training matrix.

Safety Responsibilities :

  • Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, including but not limited to all requirements outlined in Sections 27 and 28
  • Review, understand and enforce all policies and procedures in the Dresden Industrial Health and Safety Manual.
  • Participate as required, during emergencies as part of the Emergency Response Team.
  • Participate as required in incident / accident investigations

Quality Responsibilities :

  • Maintain quality standards on all products and processes to ensure manufacturing with zero defect methodology
  • Ensure quality alerts are adhered to by all employees
  • Ensure that employees have received training from the appropriate personnel to reduce quality concerns
  • Exercise compliance with Quality Management Systems when implementing and performing all company procedures
  • Integrate environmental practices and commit to the continuous improvement of the EMS
  • Exercise compliance with ISO 14001 standards

General Responsibilities :

  • Installation of molds, process start up and shut down
  • Oversee, troubleshoot and repair process issues with molding, automation and controls
  • Responsible for the ongoing maintenance of the Plastics division
  • Ensure accuracy of process parameters to maximize efficiency and reduce operating costs
  • Ensure adherence to the production schedule
  • Direct supervision of hourly work force to maximize efficiency and reduce operating costs
  • Ensure personnel issues are dealt with in a timely manner, including disciplinary actions
  • Ensure timeliness and accuracy of all production reporting requirements
  • Complete workplace inspections and process audits as required and corrective actions are implemented
  • Meet or exceed all production, safety and quality goals through continuous improvement
  • Foster a positive team environment and assist coworkers as required
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned by management.
