Job summary

Kibbi in Banff, Canada seeks an experienced plasterer to join our construction crew. You will apply, level and finish plaster on walls and ceilings at various locations, including renovations and commercial projects.

The role requires working at heights, handling materials, and maintaining safety on busy job sites. No degree is required; 2+ years of plastering experience is preferred. Permanent, on-site work with standard shifts and physical duties.”

Responsibilities

• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints.
• Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster.
• Clean and prepare surfaces before plastering.
• Cure freshly plastered surfaces and finish corners as needed.
• Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency and install decorative panels as required.
• Install vapour barriers and insulation, work at heights on scaffolding.

TASKS

• Apply successive coats of compound and sand seams and joints
• Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster
• Clean and prepare surfaces
• Cure freshly plastered surfaces
• Fill joints, nail indentations, holes and cracks with joint compound using trowel and broad knife
• Finish corners and angles and create decorative designs in finish coat, if required
• Mix plaster ingredients to desired consistency
• Mould and install ornamental plaster panels, cornices and trim
• Smooth out excess compound and allow coat to dry
• Spray acoustic or texture materials over walls and ceilings
• Tape over joints using taping machine and embed tape in compound
• Trowel or spray coats of stucco over exteriors of buildings to form weatherproof surfaces
• Attach metal or gypsum lath to studs or furring
• Install corner beads and wire mesh around beams to which plaster is to be applied
• Install vapour barriers and thermal and sound insulation
• Work at heights, on scaffolding or swing stages
• Erect and install scaffolding, falsework and other working platforms
