Plant Superintendent

Central Stampings Limited, a member of the Narmco Group and a Tier One manufacturer of Metal Stampings & Welded Assemblies for the automotive sector, located in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, has an opening for a Plant Superintendent.

This hands-on, floor-oriented position is responsible for promoting safe working practices in a safe and orderly environment. The Plant Superintendent will direct and coordinate, through a team of Area Managers and Supervisory personnel, activities such as production in an automotive metal stamping and welded assembly facility. The role requires knowledge of product technology, production methods, and machine and equipment capabilities. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and is ultimately responsible for the daily manufacturing activities of the JIT facility.

Qualifications for candidates:

1. Understanding of all aspects of Health & Safety in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations.
2. 5 or more years of experience in JIT manufacturing, preferably in Metal Stamping or Welded Assembly.
3. Knowledge of quality control, production standards, and efficiencies.
4. Understanding of machines and equipment.
5. Proper leadership and coaching abilities.
6. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
7. Ability to work in a unionized environment and resolve issues related to grievances, discipline, and health & safety.

Additional requirements:

• Experience in an automotive production environment.
• Tool & Die experience (asset).
• Robotic experience (asset).
• Ability to supervise subordinates.
• Hands-on management style, involved on the floor.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
