Job Description

The Newsmill Shift Superintendent will provide leadership and support in managing shift performance at the Newsmill operations. This role involves shift work, with two dayshifts, followed by two nightshifts, and four days off. Each shift lasts twelve hours.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and support safety, environment, product quality, and productivity, ensuring safety, cost, production, and quality targets are met.
  • Ensure mill process compliance with company and legislative standards.
  • Coordinate with operating and maintenance departments to prioritize needs and repairs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary diploma or degree preferred.
  • At least 3 years of leadership experience with sound decision-making skills.
  • Experience working in a unionized industrial facility.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in MS Office.
  • Ability to balance priorities, meet objectives, and work efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Legal right to work in Canada at the time of application.
