Job summary

Canada Building Materials (CBM) seeks a Plant Operator in Orillia, Ontario. This permanent, full-time role involves operating heavy equipment, performing inspections, and maintaining plant machinery, with training provided.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license and reliable transportation to the location (not accessible by public transit).
  • OSSGD certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and foster our safety culture by performing pre‑use inspections, hazard and near‑miss reports, and committing to working safely always.
  • Operate heavy equipment (loader, skid steer, etc.), various hand tools, and other types of machinery in a safe and efficient manner. Training is provided.
  • Perform maintenance on plant equipment as needed, including changing screens, greasing, moving equipment, etc.
  • Demonstrate teamwork and a positive attitude toward colleagues, contractors, and customers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

We are Canada Building Materials (CBM), a part of Votorantim Cimentos North America (VCNA). Established principally in Ontario, Canada, St. Marys CBM is the building materials division of St. Marys Cement. Our CBM Aggregates division is a leading producer of high-quality aggregate products with twelve sand and gravel operations and quarries competing in the Southern Ontario market which consumes over 140 million tonnes of aggregate annually.

CBM Aggregates is seeking a Plant Operator, based in Orillia. This position is a permanent full‑time vacancy. Hourly rate: $31.74 – $33.74.
