Plant Operations Leader — Maintenance & Performance

Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking a Plant and Operations Manager to lead maintenance operations, guide staff, and ensure safety and quality at a state-of-the-art facility in Toronto. You will drive efficiency, manage parts, sourcing, costing, and client engagement, and step in for the General Manager as needed.

You will oversee CMMS, develop maintenance strategies, recruit and train technical staff, monitor budgets, and report on KPIs and trends to improve performance and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in engineering, business administration, technical field, or similar area of study.
• 5 years of maintenance management experience with proven leadership abilities.
• Effective leadership with a strong focus on strategic objectives and business processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational abilities.
• Ability to multi-task and manage projects with conflicting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies for creating or improving maintenance processes and procedures.
• General oversight of the CMMS software.
• Provide leadership and guidance to the team and expert opinion to the client as required.
• Ensure that all compliance procedures are in place and all safety procedures are followed.
• Provide planning and forecasting for the department's objectives.
• Manage and oversee the daily maintenance operations.
• Responsible for recruitment, training, and talent management of technical staff.
• Responsible for the completion and retention of documents and reports including preventive maintenance and department metrics.
• Establish the overall vision and direction for the implementation of maintenance operations.
• Monitor financial performance to ensure the department meets budgetary commitments.
• Analyze and report on daily, monthly, and annual department KPIs and industry trends.
