Job summary

Tomlinson Environmental Services in Ottawa is seeking a Plant Maintenance Worker for the Bantree Reclamation Facility. This role requires working Monday to Friday, 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and includes startup/shutdown checklists, safe centrifuge operation, and routine plant maintenance.

Ideal candidates will have 2–5 years in plant maintenance, with a boiler ticket preferred. The job involves lifting up to 50 pounds, confined spaces, and occasional night/weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in a plant maintenance role.
• Boiler ticket preferred.
• Plumbing experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily startup and shutdown checklists.
• Safe and efficient centrifuge operation.
• Monitor hardness levels in the processing tank.
• Document and execute all plant maintenance safely and efficiently.
• Anticipate and prevent facility downtime.
• Maintain good housekeeping in and around the facility.
• Identify, document, and eliminate potential risks and hazards.
• Daily boiler blowdowns/maintenance.
• Physically demanding at times, involves lifting various objects.
• Must be able to work alone and be self-motivated.
• Basic understanding of pumping knowledge.
• Perform snow removal in winter months.

Tomlinson Environmental Services is seeking to hire a Plant Maintenance Worker for our Bantree Reclamation Facility. This position will require working Monday - Friday from 6:00AM to 3:00PM.

Location: 1850 Bantree Street, Ottawa, ON

Vacancy Type: Replacement

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure daily start-up and shut-down checklists are completed.
• Safe and efficient centrifuge operation.

REQUIREMENTS

• 2-5 years of experience working in a plant maintenance role.
• Valid Boiler Ticket preferred.

• Good understanding of the plant operations.
• Must be mechanically inclined.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Working in tight, awkward spaces - bending, crawling, twisting.
• Working at heights - reaching, climbing.
• Lifting objects up to approximately 50 pounds.
• Will be exposed to dirt, dust, odors, noise, and weather extremes.
• May be required to work nights or weekends.

COMPENSATION INFORMATION

The expected salary range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00 per hour. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
