Responsibilities:

The Plant Cost Accountant collaborates with the Operations Finance Lead to prepare and interpret weekly and monthly financial statements. They are responsible for product costing, maintaining standard cost accuracy in financial software, assisting with the annual budget, and reconciling site GL accounts. The role requires high diligence and adherence to JDI accounting standards.

• Prepare weekly manufacturing performance statements within deadlines.
• Prepare period-end manufacturing statements.
• Update costing data in JDE for finished goods and raw materials, including machine rates.
• Coordinate with external auditors for year-end inventory counts and other requirements.
• Support budget standards development by gathering data from departments for cost calculations.
• Ensure accurate costing of all finished good SKUs.
• Reconcile all plant balance sheet accounts, including raw materials, stores, prepaids, and fixed assets.

Qualifications:

• University diploma in accounting or related field.
• CPA designation is an asset but not required.
• 2-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in cost accounting.
