The Plant Cost Accountant works with the Operations Finance Lead in weekly and monthly statement preparation and interpretation. They are also responsible for product costing and ensuring standard cost accuracy in the financial software, assist in the preparation of the annual budget and the reconciliation of site GL accounts. The plant accountant will also display a high level of due diligence and respect of JDI accounting standards.
Qualifications
University diploma within the accounting field
CPA is not required, however considered an asset
2-3 years of accounting experience, with preferred experience in cost accounting
Responsibilities
Prepares weekly manufacturing statement on site performance meeting predetermined deadlines.
Prepares period end manufacturing statement meeting predetermined deadlines.
Preparation and updating in JDE of costing for all finished goods and raw materials for upcoming year including updating of machine rate.
Works with external auditors for yearend inventory count and other requirements.
Support in the development of the standards files for the budget by gathering the required data from other departments to use in the calculation of costs for the new budget.
Responsible for the accurate costing of all finished good product SKUs.
Reconciles all balance sheet accounts for the plant: raw materials, stores, prepaids, fixed assets.
