Saputo Inc. is seeking a Plant Accountant on the Edmonton team to analyze and evaluate Plant accounting transactions and reporting, reporting to the Finance Manager.

You will participate in weekly P&L forecasting, period-end close, budgeting, and process improvements; work involves inventory analysis, variances, and internal/external audit support. The role requires a university degree or diploma in accounting, 3+ years in production accounting, and strong Excel/SAP skills, with emphasis on

Qualifications

• Minimum of a university degree or business diploma in accounting or a related field.
• Pursuing professional accounting designation (CMA / CGA / CA) is an asset.
• 3+ years of accounting experience in a production environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Knowledge and experience of SAP is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Self-motivated, results oriented, able to work well under pressure.

Responsabilités

• Weekly reporting of Plant profit & loss forecasts and other activity management reports.
• Prepare period end journal entries, financial statements, variance analysis and reports.
• Assist with budgeting.
• Analyze, investigate and evaluate accounting transactions & reports to ensure accurate reporting.
• Make recommendations for improvement to transaction entry & reporting processes based on analysis.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide insights on cost drivers, operational trends, and financial risks.
• Provide support for the Plant Accounting team in other areas as required.
• Provide support for continuous & process improvement and other team development initiatives.
• Assist with inventory control, analysis and reporting.
• Assist with period-end / year-end close, reporting and budgeting.
• Create ad-hoc reports as required.
• Assist with audit preparation and respond to internal/external auditor inquiries.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline financial and operational processes.
• Other assigned duties and projects.
