Job summary

West Fraser's Cariboo Pulp & Paper in Quesnel, BC is seeking a Plant Accountant to join its financial team. This role reports to the Divisional Controller and involves the full cycle of accounting on site, supporting mill management with timely and accurate reporting.

You will perform month-end duties, assist with the annual business plan, and provide cost analyses and recommendations. CPA designation or enrollment is required, along with strong organizational and communication skills.

This role reports to the Divisional Controller and will gain exposure to the full cycle of accounting and all matters impacting the financial team on site.

You'll Do
  • Preparation and processing of various month-end duties, including journal entries, financial statement package, related mandatory reporting and general ledger reconciliations
  • Coordination and compilation of the annual business plan
  • Assisting mill management in department cost control, cost/benefit analysis and providing financial information and recommendations
You have
  • A professional accounting designation (CPA) or be enrolled in a designated accounting program
  • Well-established organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Good verbal and written communication abilities
  • A detailed and proactive approach to work
  • A high level of motivation
Compensation Package
  • The salary range for this position may vary depending on experience, education, and location. The annual salary range is $70,000 to $85,000.
