Job Description:

Planning Engineer (Infrastructure)

Abu Dhabi, UAE

Parsons is seeking a talented Planning Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will develop and maintain detailed project schedules for the cycle track project.

What You'll Be Doing:
  1. Review and convey Engineer’s consent to the Contractors’ Baseline schedule of works in line with Contract conditions, using Parsons Recommended Practices.
  2. Validate the compatibility of project resources for timely completion.
  3. Develop a Master Schedule integrating multiple packages considering their interdependencies to identify and reflect the impact of one schedule/project on others.
  4. Evaluate & verify planning and scheduling information from updated/progress schedules, identify potential delays/slippages, highlight critical events, and suggest mitigation measures.
  5. Perform “What if” analysis to assess the time impact of changes, variations, and potential events early, providing alternative courses of action before issuing instructions to contractors.
  6. Prepare regular progress and monthly reports with program analysis, recommendations, and presentations regarding work progress concerning milestones.
  7. Assess claims including Extension of Time and Disruption using delay analysis methodologies such as time impact and window analysis, demonstrating contractor’s concurrent delay.
  8. Discuss, coordinate, and resolve planning and scheduling issues with contractors and the Employer.
  9. Coordinate with the Client to finalize programs, reports, and claims.
  10. Attend meetings (kick-off, technical, progress review), provide inputs, and prepare minutes.
  11. Prepare Trackers/Logs to monitor critical issues during Design and Construction stages.
  12. Establish progress measurement systems and key indicators with stakeholders for monitoring.
  13. Communicate clearly through presentations to management and interface effectively with professionals, providing reasoned, analytical responses to contractor notices using programming data and contractual provisions.
  14. Maintain proper project records.
  15. Issue delay notices and performance letters for contractor delays or slow performance.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or construction management.
  • 8-10 years experience in planning & scheduling of building and hotel projects with FitOut experience.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and MS Project.
  • Strong understanding of earned value management (EVM) and its integration into schedules.
