Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Planning Director to join our team! In this role, you will manage the program-wide project control/scheduling activities and maintain the Program Master Schedule. You will develop the capability and supervise the performance of all program planning, scheduling development, analysis, reporting, and progress evaluation.

The position interfaces with the Client, Project Director, Contracts Managers, Design and Engineering team, Construction Directors, PMCM Consultants, and oversees all construction scheduling activities. This role reports to the Senior Planning Manager.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Develop and implement strategic planning initiatives to support the company's objectives.
  • Provide guidance and specialized assistance to projects for resolving complex planning problems.
  • Lead and manage the planning team, offering guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
  • Interface with clients and PMCM consultants, attend meetings, and provide statistical reports.
  • Coordinate with various departments to align planning activities with business goals.
  • Analyze market trends, industry developments, and internal data to inform decisions.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on planning activities, progress, and outcomes to senior management.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to planning processes.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Continuously improve planning processes and methodologies.
  • Support and assess the impacts of design and construction changes and schedule slippages.
  • Integrate scope, cost, and schedule within the WBS, ensuring accurate mapping.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of the program-wide integrated schedule.
  • Assist in developing procurement strategies and associated phasing timelines, updating regularly.
  • Participate in developing key milestone dates and schedule requirements in RFPs for design consultants and contractors.
  • Review and respond to bidders’ queries during tender periods.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly progress meetings with contractors, consultants, and clients.
  • Create statistical reports for management on a recurring or ad-hoc basis.
  • Perform other responsibilities as appropriate.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from a recognized university.
  • 25 years of experience in project control and scheduling of engineering and construction activities, including supervisory/managerial roles.
  • Extensive experience with projects at the design stage.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of industry practices and regulations.
  • Proficiency with Primavera Enterprise Systems scheduling technology and understanding of AI scheduling tools.
