Job summary

TSG Staffing Services seeks a Planner Scheduler (Turnaround) for the Greater Calgary Area in an operating plant setting. You will develop executable plans by leveraging trade knowledge, field data and inputs from maintenance and operations teams.

Key duties include creating resource-loaded baseline schedules, schedule basis documents and KPI reporting, interfacing with engineers, supervision and client project management. Requires CPM scheduling expertise and Primavera P6 proficiency.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent in Planning/Scheduling/PM
• 10+ years in Planning and Scheduling
• Industry certifications preferred (PSP, PMI-SP)
• Expert knowledge of CPM scheduling concepts
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and SAP; Power BI is a plus

Responsibilities

• Develop high-quality executable plans using trade knowledge, field data and input from maintenance, operations and technical resources
• Plan and schedule engineering, procurement and construction activities for oil & gas projects
• Interface with engineers, construction supervision and management at planning and execution stages
• Collaborate with Client Project Management to provide scheduling solutions
• Prepare resource-loaded baseline schedules and schedule basis documents with critical path analysis
• Develop and maintain task lists and bill of materials to ensure accurate planning records
• Provide analyses and workarounds to mitigate schedule delays as needed
• Coordinate with cost analysts and estimators to align schedules with costs and earned value progress
• Prepare and present Schedule Risk Analysis when required
• Collect and report schedule KPIs at project and program levels

TSG STAFFING SERVICES is recruiting for a PLANNER SCHEDULER (TURNAROUND) for an opportunity in the Greater Calgary Area in an Operating Plant environment.

Job Description:

• Applying trade knowledge, field condition information, relevant technical data, personal experience, and where appropriate, input from maintenance, operations and technical resources to develop high-quality executable plans
• Responsible for planning and scheduling different phases of engineering, procurement & construction primarily related to the Oil & Gas Industry
• Directly interfaces with engineers, construction supervision, and management as necessary at the planning stages of the project and during the execution of the project.
• Directly interfaces with the Client Project Management team, when necessary, and provides appropriate solutions related to planning/ scheduling
• Prepares Resource-loaded Baseline Schedules and Schedule Basis documents, detailing execution/ contracting strategies, assumptions, allowances and critical path analysis
• Develops and maintains Task Lists and Bill of Materials to ensure complete and accurate records and current with planning standards
• Independently provides analysis and workarounds, when required, to mitigate schedule delays
• Works with project controls counterparts – cost analysts & estimators – to align schedules with estimate, cost and earned value progress systems
• Responsible for preparation and presentation of Schedule Risk Analysis, when required
• Responsible for collecting and reporting schedule KPIs at individual project and program levels

Job Requirements:

• An Engineering degree and/or relevant qualification in the field of Planning/ Scheduling and Project Management
• 10+ years of experience in the field of Planning and Scheduling
• Preference will be given to individuals with relevant industry recognized Planning/ Scheduling Certifications (example PSP, PMI-SP)
• Expert knowledge of CPM scheduling concepts
• Expert level of proficiency in Primavera P6 and SAP
• Some exposure to Microsoft Power BI application is an asset
• Software skills associated with export/ import of schedule data using Excel and other database tools
• Experience working on sustaining capital type programs with multiple small and medium-sized projects
• Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing and solving problems
