QUALIFICATIONS
To excel in this role, the Planner I requires a university degree in urban and regional planning or a related field, and knowledge of Municipal and Territorial legislation relating to planning and development. A valid NWT Class 5 Drivers license is also required. The candidate should be eligible for membership with CIP and APPI and may be working toward completing their RPP designation.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical users is required.
SALARY
The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $86,829.74, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including monthly housing and vacation travel allowances totalling $450, and a defined benefit pension plan.
