Job summary

Hatch is seeking a dynamic Piping Engineer-in-Training, New Graduate, to join our Vancouver, BC office. Reporting to the Mechanical/Piping Discipline Lead, you will support projects globally from our Vancouver location and may work at other Hatch offices and project sites.

The successful candidate will work on mechanical equipment and piping system design for industrial facilities, learn from mentors, and develop toward professional designation in a collaborative, safety-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must be graduating in 2027 or recently graduated with a mechanical engineering degree.
• Academic coursework in Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Machine Design, or Solid Mechanics is preferred.
• Previous co-op or internship experience in mechanical or piping engineering is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering principles to design mechanical equipment and piping systems for industrial facilities.
• Collaborate with senior staff and Hatch groups to review results and align with discipline standards.
• Prepare equipment specifications, construction work packages, and piping reports for stakeholders.
• Become knowledgeable about mechanical equipment, software tools, and piping systems used in projects.
• Participate in safety training, site inductions, and field verifications as needed.
• Travel to other Hatch offices or project sites for assignments.
